An attack in the eastern mountains of Puntland

The United States and the United Arab Emirates have carried out airstrikes targeting areas in the Calmiskaad Mountains, located in the Jaceel Valley.

These joint operations took place today, February 16. In the afternoon, the UAE launched an airstrike on Xaankooki, near Dhasaan. Later in the evening, USAfricaCommand  warplanes bombed GodkaKunle, near Daramodow.

The operation, codenamed “Hilaac”, is part of Puntland’s ongoing offensive against #ISIS fighters in the region, which has been active since the beginning of the year.
