Iran’s Foreign Minister visiting Riyadh today

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and a high-ranking delegation led by him, will visit the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, today, Thursday.

The Iranian news agency IRNA has announced that Minister Hussein will have a meeting with his counterpart of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal Bin Farhan, and the top officials of the Kingdom, who will discuss the relations between the two countries and issues related to the Islamic world.

It is the first trip of a senior diplomat from Iran to Riyadh, since the two countries reached an agreement to improve their relations, and he was arbitrator from China.

After several days of talks in Beijing, in March of this year, both sides decided to restore relations between the two countries. Saudi Arabia and Iran have appointed ambassadors who will reside in the capitals of both countries.
