Madagascar: 13 people died in a stampede at a football field

At least 13 people have died, including seven children, after a stampede at a stadium in Madagascar’s capital, Antananarivo, according to the Red Cross and a member of parliament. that environment.

The member of parliament named Hanitra Razafimanantsoa told a radio station in the country that the number of injured people is up to 107 people.

The Red Cross said that the death toll included seven children, but the information on the damage at the site has not yet been completed.

The Prime Minister of Madagascar, Christian Ntsay, initially said that the death toll was 12 and 80 injured.

The clash took place at the entrance to Barea, where there were about 50,000 people who wanted to participate in the opening ceremony of the country’s games.
