The UN-sponsored government in Mogadishu is in a state of disarray, retaliating against Washington, DC, and arresting journalists who attempted to expose the country’s deteriorating security.
After the suspension of a staggering $1.5 billion in military aid and the slashing of USAID to what is widely considered one of the most corrupt regimes on Earth, Somalian Islamist puppet President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has launched an aggressive, not against terrorists, yet against United States.
With Somali military officers being picked off by Al Shabaab just 30 kilometers outside Mogadishu and the capital itself under increasing threat, the leader of Mogadishu instead used his usual bizarre Friday mosque sermon to deny reality and take shots at the US.
“Foreigners who hate our progress are spreading messages that serve the US. There is no danger,” Hassan Sheikh declared, dismissing legitimate concerns raised by Washington. “There is no place where the US has taken us Somalis. Let’s unite.”
His rant comes as Mogadishu arrests its reporters for exposing the dire security failures that the government refuses to acknowledge. The situation raises serious questions: Could Hassan Sheikh be inadvertently providing misleading information to his people following the cessation of US cash flow?
It seems attacking President Donald Trump is the new strategy now that the money has dried up. But with top military officers being assassinated by terrorists and even Mogadishu itself under growing threat, the real question is how much longer can the lies hold?
