The Emir of Kuwait, Mishal Al-Sabah, has dissolved the National Assembly and announced the suspension of all its meetings
The Emir, in an unprecedented statement, claimed that representatives are getting too powerful in Kuwait and are scheming against the Emir, going as far as trying to influence who will be the Crown Prince.
He has assumed ‘full control’ of the country’s political affairs; all democratic institutions suspended
He has also suspended various articles of the constitution, for a period of up to 4 years
