NEW YORK —
The United Nations Security Council has issued a new resolution affecting the export of coal, which has previously been subject to various sanctions by the United Nations.
In this new resolution, it is said, “While it is known that the situation in Somalia is still a threat to the security and peace of the world, the Security Council unanimously approved a draft resolution that talks about suspending the sanctions once and for all.” on the front to remove the stored coal.”
In this resolution numbered 2696 (2023), the 15 member countries of the United Nations Security Council supported the Somali government to take action to completely remove the stored coal, in accordance with the request submitted by the Somali government to the council. on August 14th.
