The US has yet to respond to 840,000 Afghan refugees

More than 840,000 Afghans who applied for the U.S. resettlement program, which supports Afghans who have served in the U.S. military, are still waiting to receive U.S. resettlement, according to a new report. produced.

In this report released on Thursday by the inspector general of the US Department of State, it is said that they have taken steps to increase the facilitation of special visas intended for those Afghans.

However, two years after the United States withdrew from Afghanistan, and the Taliban returned to power, it seems that the challenges facing them have not yet been resolved.

Special visas for Afghans who served in the US military were introduced in 2009. These special visas are intended for people who feel threatened by their work.

A similar program was offered to Iraqis who worked in the United States.

The United States government has said that anyone who applies for the US resettlement program for Afghans cannot get that opportunity, and they estimate that 50% of those who apply do not meet the application requirements in the first place.
