The Republican Party candidates competing for the position of the President held their first debate on Wednesday night in the state of Wisconsin in the United States of America, which is an introduction to a series of debates between the Republican Party candidates competing for the presidential election that will take place next year in 2024.
Former President Donald Trump, one of the most popular candidates of the Republican Party, was absent from the debate last night, ahead of all the candidates of his party. Trump sees little to gain from participating in this debate.
Trump is expected to turn himself in to Georgia state authorities on Thursday, and then go through the legal process, which includes being arrested first, but released on bail.
The state of Georgia has charged Trump with charges such as meddling in the presidential election that he lost in 2020, especially the one that took place in the state of Georgia.
Although various cases are open against Trump, he is ahead of the next candidate by up to 40 points, followed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
