Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly received his Somali counterpart Hamza Abdi Barre in Cairo on Saturday, in a visit by the latter to discuss ways of enhancing the bilateral relations between the two African countries.
Madbouly affirmed Egypt’s full support for Somalia’s unity, noting that Egypt is working to enhance the bilateral economic, trade and investment ties.
“We are ready to export goods or any product that Somalia needs. We will do our best to facilitate providing these goods to meet the Somali citizens’ needs,” said Madbouly.
The Egyptian Prime Minister noted that the enhancement of the bilateral relation has been translated this month by operating- for the first time- direct flights between Cairo and Mogadishu and inaugurating the Egyptian embassy in Mogadishu.
For his part, Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre praised Egypt’s support to his country, praising the bilateral relations between the two countries at the political, trade, and investment levels.
Barre reviewed the development his country witnessed, especially at the economic level in terms of the increasing rates of GDP and revenues.
